Varsity 365 Star of the Show (4/5/08): Shanae Bailey of Swenson It didn't take long for her to steal the show, as she gallopped hurdle after hurdle with ease, leading her shuttle hurdle team to a meet record. And then she led her 4x100 team to a meet record. And then the 4x200 team to a meet record. Yes, that qualifies as terrific day, and easily earns Shanae Bailey of Swenson Star of the Show honors from the Colonial Relays on April 5th. "I just go out there and do my best," she said after the meet. "Even if I don't do good time-wise, I know I still tried my best at every event." Already garnering the individual spotlight time after time as only a sophomore, the Colonial Relays gave her and all the athletes a chance to shine as teammates. When asked how she transfers her invidual success to the relay races, she said "It's kind of easier for me because when it's a relay, your team is depending on you." With talent like this, we'd venture to say that she's a pretty good teammate to depend on.
