Star of the Show (10/31/08):
The Entire Neshaminy Offensive Line
(Represented here by Paul Carrezola and Dan Shirey)
Neshaminy gains 199 yards on the ground in division title victory
They go out there and do the job that’s asked. They hold their heads down just to make sure their stance is good, and then look up into the eyes of a defender that wants to knock them on their back. They scrape and claw not for the glory, but for the passion. They are the offensive lineman and blocking tight ends, the unsung heroes of many championship offenses on all levels. And last Friday, we witnessed 2 groups who pride themselves on opening up holes for the run in Neshaminy’s offensive line and Pennsbury’s offensive line. In the end, it was the group from Langhorne who would prevail, helping their team gain 199 yards on the ground in a 16-13 victory that granted the Neshaminy Redskins the Suburban One National Conference title. They may normally be unsung heroes, but their performance last Friday makes the entire Neshaminy offensive line the first o-line to win Varsity 365 Star of the Show honors.
Note: Unfortunately our video tape malfunctioned while we were recording the interview with Carrezola and Shirey. Hopefully we will be able to make up for this at some point this year.
