FAQ's

1. What is Varsity 365?
Straight to the point!  Varsity 365 is a High School Sports Webcasting Network.  We spotlight the biggest games and the best rivalries in Greater Philadelphia Area high school sports.  We also recognize the top athletes and best athletic efforts.  We strive to celebrate the world of high school athletics every day of the year.  Our coverage extends to the entire state of Pennsylvania at certain times, such as State Championships, tournaments, and invitationals.

2. What makes you a webcasting network?

We currently put up video highlights, photos, articles, and coverage of a selected "Showcase of the Week."  For that one week, the selected athletic event gets the spotlight.  We also add in bonus coverage of other games throughout the week at times, providing a smaller spotlight than our Showcase of the Week, but attention nonetheless to the event.

3. How do you decide which games to cover?

Many factors go into this decision, but our main goal is to cover the biggest games and the best rivalries.  We try to spotlight some of the bigger matchups that warrant the extra attention, making each "V365 Showcase of the Week" a game that the masses will want to read about and watch highlights of.   For instance, we do major coverage on championship meets and playoff tournaments.

4. What else do you do besides game coverage?

We plan to feature all components of the high school athletic atmosphere, so this includes the fans, alumni, coaches, the bands, cheerleaders, and more.  We also plan to help bridge the gap between athletes and the academic realm with our Athlete to Academic Initiative, which will highlight academic performance and accomplishment.  There are many other features that will be added to Varsity 365 as we continue to grow.

5. Do I have to pay to enjoy Varsity 365?

No.  We stress the belief that, as a network, our webcasts should be made available to everyone.  We also do not charge the schools or institutions to cover the games we select.  We do plan on selling merchandise (we have begun selling our highlight DVD's), and we also plan on incorporating sponsors and advertisers. We also may incorporate subscription services that would allow access to extra content.  But the majority of our content will always be free.

6. Can I advertise through your network?

Advertising is expected to be a big part of Varsity 365, just like a regular broadcasting network.  We have many options available for companies big and small.  For more information, go to our Marketing page

7. I would like to be a sponsor for Varsity 365.  Is that possible?

Yes.  In promoting High School athletics, we believe that we are giving these young athletes a chance to be a part of their own dedicated spotlight.  And because we stress positive media and a celebration theme, we will only shed light on the good stuff (so you won't find coverage of a fight at a game here).  If you believe in that vision or in other aspects of our company, we would love to talk about a possible sponsorship.   We encourage companies of all types to look into being a sponsor for Varsity 365.    For more information, go to our Marketing page.

Technical and page problems:

I am having problems viewing the videos!

We currently use Blip.tv to host our videos.  In order to get the best video resolution for our viewers, we have transcoded the videos into Quicktime format (.mov).  This means that you must have Quicktime to view our videos.  It is best to have the latest version of Quicktime installed.  We plan on improving this in the near future to allow for an easier viewing experience for everyone.

My Varsity 365 screen looks different than it did on my other computer.

We currently have our web windows set for 100% of your browser window.  So the web page determines your resolution size and adjusts the size of the page accordingly.  Because of this, the web page will look different not just on different sized screens, but also when a square monitor is compared to a widescreen monitor.

This is another thing we want to improve on in the near future so that everyone has about the same look on just about any computer when viewing Varsity 365.
