Varsity 365 2008 Football Coach of the Year:
Drew Gordon, Lasalle
Lasalle was sort of a question mark coming into the season. The experts knew they had the ability to do some good things, but coming off of last year's 5-7 season, not many expected them to have the incredible season that they had. After an early season stumble to Malvern Prep, Lasalle went on a tear, winning 8 out of their last 10 games, including the 4A Catholic League Championship game over Father Judge. They knocked off St. Joe's Prep twice, was the only team to defeat West Catholic in the regular season, and avenged their only league loss of the season (which was to Father Judge). For leading his team way beyond their expectations and obtaining Lasalle's second league championship in three years, Drew Gordon is our 2008 Varsity 365 Coach of the Year.
